Double Award for AMMOUSA Beer at the Greek Beer Awards 2026

he multi-awarded craft beer from Patras claims new international distinctions at Greece's most prestigious beer competition
AMMOUSA Beer, the craft beer that started in a house basement in Patras and today is exported to Singapore, London and Paris, achieved a double award at the Greek Beer Awards 2026 — the country's top international beer competition.
Both AMMOUSA labels were recognised:
- 🏆 AMMOUSA English IPA (5.5% ABV, with ginger)
- 🏆 AMMOUSA Tropical Stout (7% ABV, with natural vanilla & coffee)
A competition of global standing
The Greek Beer Awards have been organised since 2017 by BeerBartender and are the only beer competition in Greece conducted through blind tasting by an international panel of judges — a guarantee of complete transparency and credibility.
This year the competition further established itself as an international hub for modern brewing, attracting entries from Italy, Turkey, Poland and countries across Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean. The awards ceremony took place on May 8, 2026 at the Miltiadis Evert Amphitheatre of Technopolis City of Athens, as part of the World of Beer Festival.
The competition is held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism and the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce.
A story that started from scratch
AMMOUSA was created in 2016 by mechanical engineer Giorgos Ntanos, based in Patras, with a vision of bringing craft brewing and fine gastronomy together. Today, with 27 international awards, AMMOUSA:
- Is served at iconic restaurants: Spondi, Aleria, Merceri, ARK
- Is featured at luxury hotels: Hilton Athens, SANI Halkidiki, MonAsty Thessaloniki
- Is exported to Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Germany
- Has been awarded at the Great Taste Awards and World Beer Awards
- Has been named "Product of the Year" twice at EXPOTROFI
A word from the creator
"Every award confirms that our philosophy — crafting beers that engage with food and move the people who drink them — is the right path. AMMOUSA started in a basement and now reaches tables around the world. That is the dream we keep building, one brew at a time."
Giorgos Ntanos, Creator & Founder, AMMOUSA Beer
